    If you can see them on the scope it means it is there, but not viewable in TV standards colourspace [rec709 for HD]. So you can't see those 'white' values on a tv/video monitor, hence no detail in shadows.
    Using the "restrict" option maps those values above 16 and makes them visible - detail in shadows.
    You can raise them up in CC, but would need to do it on a shot by shot basis.

    I just installes the AvidMediaComposerPatch5.0.3.8 and by dgault it is still "Center Keep Size" when I import R3D ...

    Just created a "new user" and a "new projekt" still says: "Center Keep Size"

    hmmm... I could have sworn I saw that working when they fixed it internally. Is this an existing project or a new project. If existing, can you try a new one and see what it defaults to?
