    Hi,
its my first post here so I will start with a little bit of dumb question.

Right now we are encoding 4k R3D files to ProRes HD 4444 .mov files with RedRush using RSX settings. RedRocked card isn't present in the system.
The process is a unacceptability slow at MacPro v4.1 8 cores.
Will the RedRocket card help us to go faster encoding ?

    thanks

    Yes. Simply put. A lot.

If you are transcoding r3d's from build 30 firmware or later, you should not use rushes anyway. Clipfinder will get you the right image for rushes.

    And welcome!

With an 8 Core MacPro you're probably getting 3-4 Frames Per Sec. of encoding speed. A RED Rocket will turn that into 24 FPS, realtime encoding!!!!

If you do a lot of shooting a Rocket will be the best $3000/$4750 you'll ever spend.
