Its always great to hear REAL stories form those that use the cameras and gear
professionally in the most demanding environments and I'm sure POTC4
qualifies under this notes ;)

Happy Birthday Mark!
Steve... how did Epic handle the various shooting conditions? Can you share any notes?
Surprised there aren't more comments on this. This is one of the most exciting posts I've read here. This is all very inspiring to hear :-)
Glad to hear I've not been kidding myself - and anyone who's ear I can chew - about how amazing this camera is going to be. The excitement is killing me!
And happy birthday Mark.

The funny thing is that tons of people still talk about Red with skepticism.
Once Epic is out we might find it is those who still try to act that way that are treated with skepticism. ;)
Actually - even though I work and breathe RED to a silly extent, I think it is a good thing that there is not only one penultimate tool that everybody likes.
The great thing about RED is how the cameras are flexible for adjustments when other nice stuff comes up. That is the real flexibility of REDraw vs baked solutions.
But admittedly also what makes a lot of people frustrated.
The media and camera is the same, but the workflows and resulting imagequality is constantly improving.
I love that.
Others, not so much...
That said, I really am dying to work on my first Epic shoot, not long from now... -:)
