    Need Help

I have to export my footage in format: Quicktime H.264, 25fps, 600kbps, 640x480 pix, 96 kbps audio. And then upload to FTP.

After I rendered, I found that quicktime has higher data rate (around 3,xxx kbit/s) and the file's size is very large.

I want to know how to limit the data rate of exporting file to 600kbps.

    Thank for every suggestion.

For this you'll need to select "Settings", "Data Rate" and once you select "Restrict to" you'll get the choice of "Download" or "Streaming", where you then can choose the limit bandwidth of your H264 encoding. This dialog is the same for any QT aware application, even cross platform.

I use REDCINE-X build 351 with RED Rocket.

In export setting window, chose quicktime.
And in compression settings window, I set
    compression type : H.264
    Frame per sec : 25
    Key frame every : checked > 25
    Frame reordering : checked
Limit data rate to : checked > 75
    Optimized for : download
    Encoding mode : Single-pass
    Quality : Medium

Size of export is 640x360 and debayer at full.

But the exported quicktime file's data rate is still high, not change (around 3,xxx kbit/sec > check from inspector of quicktime player 7)

So, how can I limit data rate of quicktime H.264 to 600 kbit/s.

    Thanks for help.

Yep, you're correct. It doesn't work as it supposed to. I just tried it myself with version 262 and it's not limiting the bandwidth of H264 whatsoever. In this case, just export the Prores and then compress that to H264.
