With as well as Alexa seems to be moving, I can't imagine you guys would have any trouble moving these Epic Model-Ts (Tank) at a price still under a ready to roll Alexa. Kind of surprised to see you doubt the demand, Jim!

While the EPIC arrive please help your clients, we realy need very importants devices for our RED 1 & RED MX - Like EVF, RED PRO LCD, DRIVES, RAMS, TOP MOUNTS, RED STATION CF all this items are more than necesary to make bussines and create images.
As I say before a R1 whit out evf or lcd is like car whitout tires.
Gracias David Torres
Jim, will the Machined Epic only have the PL Mount?
Wow, interesting!!!
A few clarifications?
1. So if purchased, this is entirely a separate purchase than my EpicX #27 stage 2 that I have my deposit on? Meaning I could buy an Epic-M in Dec (or Jan) and then also get my EpicX27 in Feb?
2. What modules are available with this? Or is it effectively just brain and a side handle? Will it be SSD or CF? If SSD, will the media be available as well?
3. For someone in my place (<100 #), EpicM sounds like literally just a 30 day advantage (Jan instead of Feb), am I reading that right?
Thanks!!
So much excellent news today. ...Hand-built Epics, 7.5 second boot time, Epic is ready and production lines being tooled up, firmware essentially done. Wow.
I'm still interested in the machined option, especially since it doesn't count against my other reservations!!! Woohoo!! But I have to wonder about the practicality of it for my needs. I suppose I'll have to mull it over as you guys figure out the details.
Forgive my ignorance Jim but could you explain the advantages of a machined brain versus a cast brain? I understand the advantages of machined moving parts but I'm unclear about a simple container if all the important aspects of the brain (boards, etc) are the same. Thanks for your patients.
That info on the modules helps a ton for planning. So approx. double the price for machined LCDs, etc. Does that include things like SSD mags? Another big one up in the air is the final price of the SSD side module. Double the price could either be $1,000 or $5,000.
Absolutely understand the premium prices, just running the numbers to see if it makes business sense, and Dec. is awfully close!
