Everyone hold off until I post in the next few days about how we will handle this. Quite frankly, I'm surprised at the response.

Is it safe to assume that a machined chassis will take 5 to 7 days for finish? That's a timescale I'm familiar with. Orders of magnitude aside, would we be looking at a three to six week turnaround?

    EpicM Side Handle: $1,900
    Titanium Mount: $3,000
    4x 64gb: $2,000

    = $54,900?
The Titanium mount is standard and included in the brain price.

Just thinking out loud here... Since the Epic-M program will be extremely limited, there's a lot of people that might be getting their hopes up too high.

Let's say, since Jim threw out 50 as a possible production figure, that they will take orders for Epic-M cameras until they have enough to fill their production quota. If they go in order of customer number (as in delivery date of your RED ONE), I would imagine they start with those at the front of the list and ask them if they are in or out for an Epic-M. Then continue going down the list until the quota is filled.

Therefore, realistically, as RED One #1110 shipped April 2008, do I even need to worry myself about the Epic-M or not?

The machined SSD media would be a lot more than that.

The media is not machined, only the media housing

Instead of Epic-M (M is already used to designate Mysterium, and in M-X to designate Mysterium-X, which might confuse some production people - ie non-Red savvy folks), can I suggest Epic-HB for Epic - Hand Built? Or possibly simply Epic-H for Epic Handbuilt...

Either that or Epic-KA for Kick Ass!
