Way back when, I thought Epic-X was a special package reserved just for Stage II customers trading in their Red Ones. Is there any distinction any longer between the Epic body the Stage II customers get, and the one anyone can get? Not that it makes a difference to me. I'm in Scarlet-land. Just curious!

I remember that too - with the Epic-X having a slightly higher top framerate I believe.

There is no any identifiction!

Light is much better! I need to untestand the parameters of camera before I read the a lot of words! Epic Light - I can understand there is Epic Hard is cool and smaller Epic Light is cool too but Less cool a little!

And What does is mean S or X or M????
It is nothing! Just a words! Without any hidden meaning!

I think 65 years should be enough time to disassociate a couple of letters from the alphabet with the Waffen SS. Besides, they used very distinctive letters that of course are linked.

Elsie, believe me. EPIC-SS would cost RED *a lot* of sales here in Germany.

Especially with all those skull and crossbones symbols.

errr ... have you not been following?
EPIC-X and EPIC-M are almost set in stone, words from the big man himself,
the debate is over the renamed scarlet s35 which he suggested as EPIC-S
but several people including myself pointed out that over the phone EPIC-S and EPIC-X sound similar.
This would also cause problems with non english speakers.
Therefore I suggested that EPIC-s35 is the logical alternative.

Why the 2/3rds and not also the S35 too? We can always stop down... The opposite is not exactly the same thing. The same faster lens with the same aperture will necessarily produce different results.

What happens with the binned sensor Epics? Weren't they originally called Epic-X?

That wouldn't work - the "Epic-M and Epic-X" are also s35 sensors!
