So it looks like our Red number 88 could be turned into an Epic-M sooner than we thought and therefore available for rental in Paris starting January.

We're already gathering interest from several parties in France about renting this Epic from us around that time but we're curious to get a more European feel of which projects would be best suited to benefit from this Epic-M starting January.

As a rental house providing also post-production services including Scratch 4K color grading (and soon 5k;) that has large experience with all the pipe down to 35mm print and DCPs, we'll need a bit of time to validate the 5K workflow before letting the beast start production ;) But after that we'll be happy to put it to work on any European project shooting at that time and willing to take the heat and exposure from being the first EU 5K feature!

PM me in that regards if interested.

    Best,

NB: The title of this thread is based on the possibility given to us to jump into the pre-production Epic option that Jim announced yesterday and the fact that getting this Epic-M before Christmas would depend on how many other people before us in the 100 low numbers decide to make this jump as well. Our best guess is that 40-50% of the people will take this option, so we would be in the high 30s-low 40s Epic-M numbers to come out. Jim mentioned that the production rhythm of these hand-built Epic-M would be around 10 per week, so that's how we came up with the Christmas estimate. Please don't take this news 100% certain until we have received a written confirmation from Red on that matter.
