I know there is some talk that RED may have a mount for the EO line of lens'. Can anybody tell me how you would control the IRIS?

I probably have much more money invested in EOS lens' than Jim Jannard does, so this is a concern for me.

I doubt you have more invested than Jim... he's got one of Canon's 1200mm $90,000 lenses! :)

That said, a quick search in the lens section for "Birger" or "Canon mount" will pull up all sorts of great stuff... including pictures of prototypes, pricing, etc.

    Dammit, I just got served.

You gotta promise to hook one up to a RED and post the pictures.

If somebody can seriously tell me how and if they'll work on my yet-to-be-purchased RED (or anybody else's for that matter), I promise I'll post pics of the one that still works. The other is a parts lens.

LART (Los Angeles Red Test) has been postponed until Nov 17 and Gibby (who is running the test) mentioned that they will be seriously shaking down the Birger Canon mount

Cambridge, WI, huh? I grew up about 30 miles from there and, if all goes as planned, will be bringing two Reds to town next June to shoot a feature in and around Middleton. I may be coming in Jan/Feb to shoot some snow footage and do some scouting, so if you haven't seen one by then we could hook it up to your monster (I'm likely getting the Birger mount as well depending on how Gibby's test goes)

    Joe,

Why is one a parts lens? Is it all there?

Okay, I must confess. I really don't own two $90,000 lens. It was all just fun and games. But I do own a Canon Rebel!.

Seriously. I have an extensive investment in Canon "L Series" glass and really hope the Birger EOS mount will make these finicky but otherwise excellent lens work well on RED. I also have a really cool collection of Arri 35mm lens' with bayonet mounts that might otherwise work on RED with a good bayonet to PL mount. That's an option too.
