I believe that currently any HDMI device plugged in disables SDI- this is in camera firmware has nothing to do with the monitor/EVF

That's the Cineroid EVF. (Let me google that for you) I pre-ordered one at Hotrodcameras.com as a backup for my Red EVF more than a week ago. The top of the line version is only $799 from HRC.

I think it's made in Korea - and HRC is the only US distributor taking orders at this time as far as I know.

Well you don't know much do you Dan
The $700 price is for non loop through unit and I assume the redusers will want one they could get the signal out as well.
FYI there is no distributor for this product- they are a direct sales company.
They give quantity discount so the more I order the lower the price will get.
I've championed this product and gave them my input (although their management is all electronic engineers so they know their business) so they will give me a shot at the first batch. These will sell out until the competition from Zacuto and RR will hit the streets so there will be a shortage for about 3-4 more months.
I decided to give redusers heads up first since I know how the EVF is missed here.
Obviously I have a good relation with them since I have now the only unit in the country and maybe the world and they trusted me with it to test it and demo around town. I've taken it to Panavision, Otto and few other big rental facilities and the response was very encouraging. Orders pending.
This is a very well made and thought through product and should serve the Red community very well
BTW I'm about done with the wireless- video coming up.
parts are being machined. will get them back before the end of the year.
