This is a book by a filmmaker I know, Vince Rocca, and his well earned info on making a feature film. There are several great pitfalls indie filmmakers can fall into that we can learn from in this book. It doesn't hurt to have several interviews with THE Kevin Smith in it too..

I give this the highest recommendation of a book for people looking to make a feature because the wisdom therein worked my head into a frenzy...

Please tell me Vince has now actually made it and has a real million dollar deal. Otherwise that book would effectively be my current story and 1000 other people I know :-)

That said, either way, congrats to Vince for writing a book and getting Kevin Smith in on it!

Many people do share the same story. The only difference is I put it in black and white and included financials, so newbs can get an idea of what to expect and veterans can have something to compare to.

I know a 100 filmmakers and 99 fibbers. If more had been truthful with with us all then maybe you wouldn't be in the same place as a thousand other filmmakers.

I also wrote it in a compelling and entertaining way, but that's besides the point.

I've seen kisses and caroms, and after watching it my first thought was, "someone probably bought this supercheap and then turned around made a (comparatively) huge load of money off of it.'

So, Vince, did you at least make enough to make another movie?

Yes, but not at the budget I'd like to be at. I'm hoping I can add the book profits to the bottom line and get a really nice budget together to do the next.

Another way of profiting, is that I can lay claim that I made a movie in 5 days for $11,000 that got the interest of National Lampoon and went out through Warner Bros where it made over $1mil and cracked IMDb's top 60 list. Hopefully that can convince investors and thus could be "ancillary" profits of K&C.
