Hi Redusers! Does anybody know if itīs possible to color label your good takes on the camera so you can easily find them later when downloading all takes from the CF card? This could speed up the process of reviewing. What do you guys think? Or is there any other solution beside writing it down on paper? Thanx for your advice!

    Hi Flo,
You can't create circle takes in camera but once the files are transfered view them in and Circle them in an application like Clipfinder or The Foundry's Storm.

    Hi Jody,

thank you for your fast reply! I will have a look at those applications asap. Maybe labeling clips could be a good new thing for future firmware builds?

Epic is just out... maybe having circle in metadata will be possible. I don't see why not. It could be one of the many uses of the REDMOTE

When can we download the Epic Manual? It would be nice if our first Epic clips are beautiful as well as historic.

I would love to see this happening for Red One as Epic is kind of fare away for me :) but I guess there are other more important firmware changes that should be worked out first. Until then I will write down the clip number as a sticky note on my iphone.

I would very much like a way to "mark" a take in the R1..always wanted that feature...really comes in handy when your doing greenscreen work and the clips mostly look the same...can RED "hack" the r1 to enable this from a special key seq press or something similar?

Assimilate Scratch, it's like working in the future, right now. ( no they did not pay me to say that)

Hi Obin - thank for your reply - I thought there should be way more people out there who would appreciate to have this feature.

For me it is the same - all preview clips look almost the same so it kind of hard to find the special one.

For me this work around - a method that was used when still recording on (DV) tapes - again works pretty fine : record your hand close in front of the lens for just one second after you decided on set that this special take you just shot should be found easily later. When you open all clips in redcine you will see the preview clips showing your hand so you know the special shot is the one before. It seems itīs not the most elegant way to do it but for now it works.
