  1. #1 Best practice for working with r3d and getting handles
    Hi,

I'm grading a promo shot on RED in DaVinci Resolve tomorrow. The edit has not been "frame-locked" and the editor wants me to give hime 50+50 frames handles for each clip to retain flexibility. Is it possible to do this automatically on export with Resolve?

I'm using an EDL from FCP to go back to the original r3ds.

    Thank you!

There are many ways to do this, but probably the easiest way is this:

    1. Use the "Split and Add" to choose the EDL, and add into the media pool with handles (you can choose how many handles you would like)
    2. Load the EDL and grade in context
    3. When you are done grading, switch to master session, and render in source mode
