Scarlet & 2011 are around the corner and we're all thinking what kind of accessories we'll need.

So, I'll start with my planned run'n'gun rig (estimated prices):

- 1 x RED Scarlet-F package (including a REDmote) : 7 050 $

- 2 x SSD 64 gb : 1 900 $
- 1 x RED top handle : 175 $

Roughly 10 000 $. A little bit more than expected for a starting kit.

I'd get at least 2 SSD if I could, but I try to keep the whole kit under 10 K $ because the REDcam isn't the only thing I'll need :
- more HDD storage (home & travel)
- new colorimeter
- new laptop
- a protective case
- few RED bricks.

Hello, I'm new to the scarlet seen having owned a 7d and a GH13 which I loved but Im wanting my next cam to be a scarlet

how does this rig sound?

$900 --2.8" LCD
$750--16GB + CF module
+ battery/power?

I was wondering if the SSD module would take a non propietary SSD and same with CF?

... just wondering about this one. Is $700 the price difference between the 2.8" and 5" touchscreens? Has RED confirmed that this pricing switch can happen?

note, they do sometimes take other non-red media, in the case of cf cards, but the features are limited, like only being able to shoot 2k. this is due to the inconsistency of the media that is available, even top of the line. red has the best media, period. and the only media that can cope with the amount of data coming out of the camera.

for that brain, you'll have to get RED mini primes, though there will probably be other mounting options, but there will likely be a big crop factor on the lens.

The Cinema Scarlet brain now costs an extra thousand (due to the advent of HDR). Beyond this you would also need Red Mini Primes (Obviously You could get other lenses but the miniprimes are a perfect fit for Scarlet), a Scarlet Module adaptor, some RED CF Cards, and a REDMOTE (or side grip as they serve similar control functions).
That would end up around $10,000. If your looking for something in the 5-6 grand price range you should go for the Fixed Scarlet.

Might also need lens adapters (canon-nikon-pl if cinema is preferred to fixed) and of course lenses.
At the end, whatever Brain I choose between fixed, cinema or S35(now Epic-S), I would need:
The 5" lcd
Side handle
Dual battery adapter+ batteries
(lenses adapters)
media(probably ssd, min 128GB) + module
Maybe Red bricks
Red mag
Red gunner (not actually sure)

Well I'm certainly going to sell my car ! ;)
