No problems at all.
Thanks for the update David. Greatly appreciated.
I am spewing that I missed SMPTE. We have been head down in a job for the last few months, so nothing has been happening here.
Cant wait to see a RED in the flesh.
Cheers

This is a re-post that started on the insurance thread, no one check there for a while, but I still need answers if you could.
While I'm here I would like to get an idea on crew cost down there.
Since I have been pontificating elsewhere. Dave is getting 3000.00 a day US (that's all the bells and whistles, with bullet proof data management. So Dave don't show up with your camera, an EOS zoom lens, rubber bands, grip tape, a case of blank DVD's, and a one arm man who's just happens to be named Fallow Focus.)
I can get slave wages, because I'm American asshole producer, but since I was a slave once. I don't pay them. A happy crew is a fast crew. I want to know it all including what it cost to feed you free loaders. Do I actually have to have Vegemite. Please enlighten me, use Australian dollars when quoting.

Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster :P
I'm running an event in Perth in December called Byte Me! Festival. While it's no NAB, I do have some pretty cool speakers coming - eg EA, Weta Digital and Dreamworks, and keynote is Posie Graeme-Evans, EP of McLeod's Daughters. Even Severed Heads, if anyone else is AV-geeky and old enough to remember them. I have no money, but I've pulled a few strings to get the speakers and a venue (the Perth Town Hall).
I know an event this non-traditional and umm... well, you know.. organised by one person with no money... probably isn't the ideal place to demo Red in Oz. Although it sort of fits in with the 'rebel with a cause' image of Red, and your talk about networking the digital-content-development community is pretty much the reason I'm insane enough to be running this Festival in the first place.
So.. is anyone who will have a Red by 1st December willing to come and show it off at BM!F? I emailed Mike Seymour and Red Ted but haven't heard back yet. I'd love to knock the socks off the local Industry traditionalists who just don't seem to 'get' what the digital revolution is going to mean.
I won't have a 4k projector, but I'll have a great venue that can seat at least 250 people and it will be set up for screenings, panels etc. I prefer the Perth Town Hall to the Convention Centre anyways :P
Check out the website and let me know if you're interested. I'll be overseas on tour for most of Sept, but will be checking my email all the time. If any of you Perthites would like to meet up this week before I leave, that's do-able.
best, kat black =^..^=

Hiya Karl,
You up near Newcastle.Certainly a lot of things to discuss. You picking up any of the Red lenses. I think a lot of people are busy saving for all the accessories (& camera)
Dave
Hi Dave
Have only committed to the 18-50mm. Plan to hire the Prime Set for projects, for a while at least. As far as the other accessories, I'm hanging back, interested in what feedback (namely digital media options) comes through from the first batch of cameras now being used in the field. A set of primes would be grand.... Karl
So we were filming in Sydney Yesterday - we will be filming again on Tuesday.
In a week or two it would be good to do a workshop so everyone who would like to see the camera can - and you can get a hands on look at shooting and image converting.
Can we agree on a time ? - I want to do it with the ACS .
Mike

Sounds like a great idea Mike! Just say where and when and I'm sure everyone will create the time to attend. I know I will.
