  1. #1 Mac Pro configuration and Raw port
    Hi,

I'm thinking in buy this Mac Pro configuration as a work estation and extern recording storage trhought RAW port (uncompress):

    -CPU Intel Xeon 3.0,8 nucleous
    -8Gb RAM.
    -RAID Card.
    -4 HDD 750Gb each one, RAID 0.
-I'm getting on mind some card (that I already unknow)that make me possible RAW conexion.

I'm in doubt about Mac Pro's rendimentduring the shooting process through RAW port (uncompress) and after that during the editing process.

    could someone help me??
    I'm sorry for my english

you're probably 3 - 4 years away from being able to record FULL, UNCOMPRESSED RAW images onto a Mac setup as simple and cheap as that.

Also, if this is the solution your thinking of, I think you could use that money elsewhere in the workflow to make better images than by going from redcode RAW to uncompressed RAW.

David Newman suggested using the dual HD-SDI ports as a data transfer module. That idea COULD give us a non RAW-PORT "raw-port" option.
