I borrow one GoPro the other day.

I wish it was in RedCode.

I was thinking about a crash/POV cam that would match my RED footage.

That would be perfect. (GoPro/Contour - Cam)

I would pay 1-2 thousand for it if it mean matching footage.

    Please Jim?

It doesn't have to be as small for the first generation.

    Thanks

    Michael T.

    I was being redundant.

I basically restated my earlier post. Two part camera, some waterproofing, external recorder.

Just a little tube with a small lens and some i/o ports so I can add modules as needed. Use an external recorder/processor.

    Basically Iconix the RED way.

Make it waterproof to 10m/30ft and I'd be thrilled to tears.
Yes please Jim..A RED lipstick camera would be great.

If they were ever to do this I would be on the side for a lipstick camera more similar to the contour HD and not the go pro in size and style not capability, you look kind of goofy with a go pro strapped to your head when you are riding down a large mountain, now the contour is still bad but nowhere near as un-stylish as the go pro.

though I would suspect style does not matter to most it does in the extreme sports community (at least I think so...the others just wont admit it).

Here's a REAL crappy turnaround I made on the plane back to the UK when I realised my battery was running out. Just basic geometric shapes and materials bolted on together in 5 minutes:

CF module on the back, battery on the side, wifi antenna/module ontop.

I've used lipstick cameras quite a few times before but they were all tethered to a recorder/tape deck before so the GoPro was quite a breath of fresh air when it came to portability. I prefer the squat shape to the lipstick form factor.

    2 parts, cable connected:

    a) Cylinder housing for brain with mount for mini primes
    b) Square housing for battery, CF slot and connectors

Simpler tooling and weather protection. More shared parts with Scarlet.
Simpler features, less processing needs, less power draw and cooling requirements.

Thanks Graham :) I was also thinking of RED RUNNER but that would be too large for the side of the camera...

Hrvoje's idea is really good as well like a lot of other POV/lipstick cameras. I like the idea of shared modules and lenses with the scarlet but I'm looking for the tiniest, well priced "fire and forget" solution.
