    Hello all,

I'm looking for as much info about 3d shooting, history, creative usage etc. as I possibly can for a thorough essay about this subject for school.
Searching around the web I get the feeling that the subject is still pretty new as my search turned up only a couple of books.
So if you guys know any other resource, whitepapers, something on the subject it will be much appreciated.

    thanks,
    Mike

The book "3d movie making" is awesome! Its blue and Green written by Bernard Mendiburu

The Santa Fe 3d workshop (with Geoff Boyle?) is awesome!

And if you are luck enough, the Sony Studios DP training is also fantastic. But this may be over.

    Prost,
    Rich

I second Rich's recommendation of 3D Movie Making: Stereoscopic Digital Cinema from Script to Screen by Bernard Mendiburu, and also add the free Foundations of the Stereoscopic Cinema by Lenny Lipton as a great overview of the history and underlying principles. Download it here:

Just be careful not to buy anything of those old books, as they are absolutely useless ;)

Today's 3D is a completely new realm of Image capturing system, that has come way to far form those times, and has very little in
common, most of the math is assisted by Computers and incredible systems such as the ET Atom rig, and 3Ality TS-5 with the SIP 2100.

I have gone thru all of those books 10 years ago, when every one was taking me for a fool to want to try and revive 3D,
they were right.. then, not any more off course, but we need new Books.

3D Movie Making was the only one I found a bit interesting Read, but also dispersive at best, yet a must read for any one with no Clew of 3D.

Can't say on Jeoff's book since I have not read it, and unfortunately a One page preview, is not in off of a preview for an eBook,
at list not IMO, still better read for sure then any of those hold books, hope you can take an honest and respectful opinion on it ;)
