  1. #1 NAB arrangements
    Hello RED Team -

I'm based in the UK and I'll be out in SFO the week before NAB. I will be coming to the show and I really look forward to meeting you all on stand SL5405.

My question is - Is one day as good as the next, or would there be a compelling reason to stay around until the end of the show??

Many thanks for a prompt reply as I have to book my tickets soon.

    All the best, Phil
Each morning in Africa when the sun comes up, each Lion knows that if it can't out run the slowest Gazelle it will end up starving to death. Each Gazelle knows that if it can't out run the fastest Lion it won't see the next morning.

So it doesn't really matter if you are a Lion or a Gazelle, because when the sun comes up - you'd better start running!

Monday will be busiest and most exciting. We'll all be on the stand, so you will certainly see us.

Later in the week, it will get quieter, so you will be able to get a better look. Although, if it's anything like last year, it won't get that much quieter :-)

If you want to be able to see the show, you do need more than one day - it's big.

    Hope that helps!

Graeme, any idea which evening might hold a RED event? That might also be important for planning which days to come...

Thanks Graeme - I realize the situation you are in; in so far as I have a vivid imagination. But good luck with this one - you have at least 1500 'RED heads' routing for you!

Good point Jim - I hadn't thought of that - personally I'd love to meet up with all the 'RED heads' out there. We are part of something really extraordinary after all.

Maybe someone who knows Vegas well could nominate a low cost 'RED bar' where 'RED heads' can meet up and share their visions of what they want to achieve with their new camera? Or we could just have a drink and shoot the S**T as normal?

Anyway I will buy the first round for anyone who turns up on time (to be announced later) in the 'RED bar'. I know I'm going to to regret I said that but I am feeling flush - ooohhhh.

    All the very best. Phil

I noted that there is a RED workshop the april 14th. Does it means that part of the RED team will be already at NAB on the 14th. If yes would it be possible to meet you before the 16th, leaving more time for other people to talk to you?

    Cheers,
    antoine.

Please let it not be Slots-A-Fun. Even though they have 1/2 lb hot dogs for $0.99 and beer for $1.25, that place is just such a dive. Though, it would be a good place to try out the Red One, filming a scene of a $5 crackwhore getting murdered, a la CSI.

But seriously, I'm going to have to suggest the Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas*. It's great fun, has great food, can handle large parties, and there's lots of beer. Check it out at:

There is a bar called RED in one of the casinos...but it is too small for a decent chunk of us.

Will everyone order Killian's RED, RED Stripe beer, and Johnny Walker RED Label scotch, I wonder?

No doubt there will be RED eyes the next morning...especially on the dude who gets stuck with the tab!

First day is BUSY. The second day is still busy. In my opinion, Wednesday 18 April 2007, the third day of exhibits, is clearly, the "best" day (the day before the last day). Wednesday is less busy (but everyone's already out of T-shirts by then). Two days makes more sense for a show of this size, so, attending Tuesday and Wednesday would be my choice. The last day is the worst! Thursday, the last day of exhibits, the show closes earlier, exhibitors are in a rush to close their booths, and EVERYBODY's rushing to the airport (LOOOOOONG cab lines).
