I always used to learn from the masters and in the case of cinematography for many years I followed work and philosophy thinking of Vittorio Storaro and his cinematographer theory of colors.

That means for me and also Storaro the cinematography is not so much about technical things, it's more about creative work that mostly involve emotions, feeling and impressions.

Storaro thinks about "psychological effects of different that colors have and the way in which colors influence our perceptions of different situations."

"As cinematographers, we write with LIGHT and MOTION, using SHADE and COLOR
to punctuate one important part of the vocabulary of cinema."

When Storaro is shooting any movie then he is mostly thinking about the colors.

Btw, Vittorio Storaro has also received three times Oscars for Apocalypse Now (1979), Reds (1981) and The Last Emperor (1987).

So what he think about color RED?
