If been out of the loop for a while on new gear, and I need a production monitor mainly for being able to be able to do basic grading for broadcast. It would also be nice to take it in the field as an on set monitor when needed.

I am on a budget so I was thinking about the 17" Panasonic BT-LH1710 Wide Full Feature HD/SD LCD Monitor. I work in both NTSC and PAL, Do these monitor accept PAL signals? Any other recommendations?

Also, what video cards (on a budget) could I use for FCP output? I plan on using in tandem with a Red Rocket card. I purchased a Mac Pro 8 core 2.8GHZ 6 months ago.

The Blackmagic SDI is $295 if you only need 1 input/output. (HD)SDI only though, no analogue audio or video.

Thanks for the tip on the Black Magic Card, I think that is probably all I need as I only would be using one monitor and dont ever digitize footage anymore. Do other cards add additional benefits in processing video files, rendering in FCP etc?
