    Hi Luigi,

Why 3 or 4? Is it possible with just 2 460/470/480 ? if no any specific reason? and if yes, can I use the same guide and tools?

    hello BP,
eheh eheh I also ask you a question, because only 2 gtx cards?
I think many people buy cubix and I think this is an economical solution without spending a lot and have a bit of GPU, help in the case of many nodes. I never tire of saying that to get the real-time you need a redrocket and very good hard drive raid. this is the only way possible.
To return to your question if you can only use 2 cards, my tools will work but will probably hang the system to boot.
This is because getting IOinterrupt modified to be able to load 3 gtx.
If you want I can try to reprogram the dsdt for 2 gtx not assure you anything.
    But there's worth? a GTX costs $ 250

    you have the P6T7?
    which video card you have?

I'd like to do hackintosh with EVGA Classified SR-2 and a few quadro 4000.
Is there someone who had a hackintosh on it?

    For xxxxx,
thanks for your e-mail xxxxx asked me:

I'm looking at 3 x 460's to keep the cost fairly low.
I notice some cards are 762gb, some are 1gb and some are even 2gb such as this one: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/234943
If I purchase the 2gb will it work in a hackintosh? And will it give better performance?

    REPONSE:

good idea to keep the price low.
It works fine with these cards EVGA EE 460 1GB
It is something you earn, but very little. you do not recommend it.

    For HARRIS,
thanks for your e-mail Harris asked me:

Hi Luigi, hope you're well and thanks so much for putting up the Hackintosh guild. I was
wondering with 3 gtx, + 2 slots for Blackmagic 3d+ card how many slots are left? Also do
you have a case that you would recommend for this set up. Maybe a Roswell or Coolermaster?
Also how well does this system work with other software i.e Master collection and the usual
computer software for everyday use. Also do you think it's possible to do the SR-2 dual
    setup?

Sorry for all the questions and thanks for your time.

    Harris

    Reponse:

as I said in the guide, air system with 3 video cards still have two free slots. If you use
the water system you have 4 free slots.
Eheheh I like G5 case, the use in this moment Corsair 800D.
Yes i use this system for all, final cut, premiere, davinci, word .. for all. I have no
    problems.
All I ask if you can use the EVGA SR-2, I say that not make sense,
spending a lot. at this point buy a Mac Pro. Anyway to answer your question, there are people that use the SR-2 as Hackintosh, I would love to, it would be another great adventure for me;) but in this moment no have money for this.

    many thanks

    LUIGI

EVGA SR-2 does work, there is a guide online. Thats the board to go with, it's almost identical to the P6T7. With the exception of the newer Marvell LAN. I'm very close to starting that build myself. But just for CPU+Mobo starts at $1200. A good (empty) Quad i7 Hack starts around $2000. It would be +$500 to go with the SR-2. If you go with a faster CPU your cost doubles on each CPU. Depending how you build it the cost increases pretty dramatically.

Even if the cost is more than a MacPro I'd rather go with the SR-2. A MacPro is too limited for my tastes just to have a tiny bit more stability. The functionality is Far beyond that of a MacPro.

Thank you, could you send me a link with the guide on SR-2? I didn't find it.
I know it will be more expansive than MacPro but SR-2 is just amazing board and there is a lot advantages with SR-2.

I can't find it now either, but I know for a fact it works. There are several reports of it working. Anything X58 and ICH10R works. Audio/LAN I can't be sure of. I definitely don't want to waste a pci-e slot for a LAN card unless its 4 port and supports 802.3ad.
