Anyone knows the final specs for TL cinematography on Epic?
Hopefully longer exposure times...
I asked Jim at the RED Day I went to a year ago about the timelapse functions and he said that basically it would have all the functionality as a DSLR and more. So long exposures are in that bag along with everything else to make it an amazing timelapse camera.
I heard that. But since jim's signature is "Everything in life changes... including our camera specs and delivery dates..." I am wondering what are the latest news.
No news yet. Maybe some news in a month or two.
Any fresh news on the TL features?
Some of the functionality is now enabled, but I can't say to what extent. I'm hoping to have my M by the end of the week or early next week and look forward to doing some TL tests as those features evolve. I can't wait for the electronic Nikon and Canon lens mounts along with SDK support for camera control. Got some really cool stuff in mind. ;)
Basic TL is working, with framerates down to 1fps. All the other stuff remains to be seen. Keep in mind that there has never, ever been a digital cinema camera that could do proper, long-exposure timelapse, at least not that I am aware of. It's a tricky thing to do.
What about shooting say 200 frames in a TL burst, long exposure then an interval and an tother run in TL burst. Works very well on DSLRs with a good controler.
