    I was just thinking.

Is the fiber port only ouput? Is it only connected to the video hardware or is it a more general dataport?

If you have a somewhat universal data port, would it be possible in the future to see a RED breakout box? I love the idea of a single fiber channel carrying: Digital Audio, 4k Redcode, HD-SDI out and some sort of basic control program in.

An advanced breakout box could also theoretically include XLR inputs and a high quality ADC. Of course... it would be easier probably to just record the audio at the control station if you're already recording 'off camera'.

Finally how do you plan to load LUTs onto the RED? It doesn't have an SD card slot to my knowledge.

Finally: Any decision yet on whether REDCode will be streamable to a PC Raid over firewire?

Gavin - I think there are actually two SD card slots with several potential uses including wireless connectivity to the outside world. I have posted in the past about all the wonderful applications the RedOne could be used for if 3rd parties can create breakout box type interfaces for hardline EFP and other uses. Lets keep up the chatter on this so that these features are not forgotten.
