Hi
Unfortunate problem. We're having issues trying to color someone who is ill, like terminally ill. their skin comes up with green tinge. shot on red.
has anyone encountered this problem? and is there a way to work around it?
thanks for your help

Hi!
If you send me an r3d still I will do a first light for you and see what I can do to help.
remove any older version of redcine x, remove your library/application support/red/redcine x folder if you are on mac, then install the latest version (V356)
output an R3d frame grab still and send it to:

Hey dan thanks for your offer
unfortunately there is a non disclosure clause for this project so i can't send you the footage.
but thank you very much for your offer
depending on the grading software, you can power window down the person, and use a HSL qualifier to isolate his skin and change it with color wheels or hue to get his skin tone to look better. apple color should be able to do it for you if you can't bring it anywhere bigger. some tracking might be involved in the person moves around.
use the dropper tool for white balance on the "whitest" part of their skin in RedCine-X and see where it places your green/magenta balance? dial it in from there?
Totally understand the NDA.
If you decide you want to get permission to send a single still frame I could still help you with an R3D Still frame grab.
Hello Jason
it sounds like a lighting issue to me and not camera hardware. if you are in a hospital situation more than likely you have flourecent lighting and inherently is green. I suggest you change the lights out and start there and if thats not an option 1/2 minus green gel in front of them, and if thats not an option then i'd look into a megenta filter do some tests and good luck m8 if your still shooting...
if not and is a post situation then easy enough redcine-x pull just the green back...
Yeah, it sounds like you've got a fluorescent issue going on. The first step is going to be fiddling with the tint. I wouldn't recommend just doing an auto-WB, since people who are severely ill do tend to be a bit green. So do your white balance, then crank down the tint to taste.
