I'm prep'ing a Microforce V+F2 with the the Red one cable. When I plug in the hand controller using that cable the green light on the grip is dim and flickering. I can start/stop the camera using the toggle switch but there doesn't seem to be enough juice to make the motor turn. If I use the Anton/Bauer D-tap cable the light is bright and solid and turns the motor, but of course I can't trigger the start/stop.

Do I have a bad Red cable? Is there something that needs to be set up in the camera that I've missed?

    Much thanks in advance,

Are you powering the motor from the d tap or the port on the camera? I don't think the camera ports are rated for the juice to run a motor, particularly if it's a stiffish lens.

I'd like to power the motor from the 12V out and Red cable, that would mean the motor would spin and I could start/stop the camera with the Microforce toggle.

Right now the Red cable starts/stops the camera but isn't running the motor while the D-tap cable runs the motor but obviously won't start/stop the camera.

I have 3 Microforce units 1x original and 2x V+F2s. All of them had to be modified/updated to work well with the Reds. I highly suggest getting it to Preston to get in tip top shape. There service rates are very reasonable and nothing is more aggravating than having a problem on set.

    Good Luck,
