  1. #1 Why I support RED (and dream of Scarlet)
Let me first start by saying I don't have a RED, though I dream of one day owning a Scarlet. I'm just a guy teaching myself everything I can about video and cinema. I'm a full-time college student with a full-time job while trying to build my own video/photography company (www.bornmadd.com) on the side. Everything I own I work like crazy for; my apartment, my car, my education, and my cameras.

I probably visit the forum a minimum of 10 times a day just to get my "fix." I'm a gear junkie but that's not what this post is about. I've never joined till now, but I thought this necessary to say. Like I said I don't own a RED and I don't know if I ever will. I would be happy if I ever even got to touch one.

What I do know, is that this company is amazing. Never have a seen a company care about it's customers so much. And I haven't even experienced that care first hand. There is this amazing attitude that flows from these forums and the communication between all the individuals that contribute and from Jim himself is quite astounding. Can you imagine if there was a forum where Steve Jobs talked first hand with his customers? It's absolutely unheard of. It's true care and love for what you do.

I saw a video a few months back from the TED conference where Simon Sinek was talking about how great leaders inspire action. If you haven't seen this video I highly suggest you google it and watch, it's worth your time. All I could think about was "wow, that's RED." Thats what they have that Canon, and Nikon and fill in you're other favorite camera company don't have...

"People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it."

    Bravo RED. Bravo.

Well said. I'm a science fiction guy, and the last time I experienced anything like this was... hell, nearly 15 years ago now, on RASTB5M, where Joe Straczynski was interacting with B5 fans during the making of the series, very much the way Jim does here.

I support companies that make a good product for a good price, and back it up with a decent warranty. Anything else is baloney.

If RED doesn't make you happy beyond belief... contact me directly.

I saw a Red one for the first time last semester. The College that I go to bought 2 of them and I saw some of the guys taking it down after a shoot while I was heading to class. I got super excited just being able to see one in person. I remember saying to myself "holy crap thats a red one!"
