I see. Thanks for the replies. So it seems Red Volts aren't a quantum leap in technology, as Red is doing in most other areas, but they are working solidly and that is all anyone could ask for. We are lucky that Red decided to go there and provide something unprecedented in terms of size and weight. It would have been unattainable without the little RedVOLTS.

This is very generous of you Mike. Thanks for putting it out there. I personally would love to see some more HDRx examples that better showcase the unique Magic Motion artifacts that HDRx creates. The "impossible shot" that you guys posted was amazing, and it definitely had a different "feel" to it, especially in the motion blur of the passing cars and overhead tunnel lights. However, as HDRx is constantly improving, this may be a test that you'd want to wait longer on before scrutinizing the footage?

Also, footage aside, I'm very interested in more videos showcasing the ability of the camera to scale in different situations. (i.e. different configurations, demonstrations of using modules) that kind of stuff... Thanks for the consideration!

On the subject of the REDVOLTS, there was a battery module on display in the RED booth that held two REDVOLTS. Not sure if it is addition to the four battery module or if it replaces it.

Thank you so much for making this offer Mike. I love the gorgeous footage you have put out with the Epic.

I would love to see an Hdrx, with a dark skinned subject shot against a bright sky with the sun behind the subject.

What would you like to see ? (- other than an FEDEX truck arriving at your house with an EPIC)

(I am not really interested right now in filming soft porn chick shots in the studio - I will say that right up front !!)

Purely as an academic exercise, I'd like to see a rolling shutter test. I haven't been able to perceive any rolling shutter in the footage people posted, but it'd be nice to see a direct comparison. If you get around to it, thanks, Mike.

Sure we will see what we can do.. generally HDRx is now my passion - this is where I will be unless told otherwise !!! We shot some great HDRx already but the post process is new and evolving.
So great ideas so far - please send more if you would like.

    Hey Mike,
How have you been exposing your hdrx? any different than regular?
Are you combining the tracks in Redcine or another program?

Mike is one of the few that has access to Graeme's Magic HDRx algorithms. It isn't yet in RCX.

I really cannot understand why. :P

A lot of the HDRx we've seen so far has been used like in the music video example, where the talent/subject is exposed in a normal dynamic range and the HDRx is just used to save the background or something along those lines.

I'd like to see more actual HDR photography, by which I mean work where extended dynamic range is utilized on the subject itself.
