Wow, that is fantastic. There is much detail in both the shadows and highlights of it. A great example of what the tool can do. Thanks for posting Billy.

    Looking good!

Lincoln & B'Way.. haha.. there all the time. It's great to see familiar environment in a new context and HDRx makes this look extraordinary!

That's really incredible. Just gorgeous footage. That shot should simply not be possible.
    Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks Billy, really awesome stuff. And I agree with Frank, spent so much time on Lincoln and Broadway, great to see the old stomping grounds looking so good.
Keep em coming and thanks again :)

Killer look Billy. I cannot wait to mess around with HDRx. Was fortunate enough to work with Ketch this past weekend, but didn't get a chance to see how the HDRx stuff looked after it was shot. Your shot, is a perfect example of typical uses of HDRx.

You said that the whole shoot was done on HDRx, is there a "story or motif" reason for doing so? or was it just that all of your shots called for having the extra latitude?

Peter, although there was a particular "story motif" that corresponded to the narrative, the real reason we used HDRx was to compensate for our lack of budget. In order to achieve the same look without using HDRx we would have had to employ large daylight fixtures, a process trailer, larger grip and lighting department, and flown several 20x or 12X silks/bounces etc.
It was also an opportunity for me to jump off a cliff with the HDRx, so to speak. Until that day, I had never used it or seen it used, but in theory I thought it to be the perfect tool (and it was). I was a little worried, but then again it was a music video, so we had a lot of leeway creatively;)

Very impressed with the fact there was no additional lighting in your shot, Billy! That was a great showcase for the capability of HDRx.

Here's a video Billy and I shot with his beautiful Epic. No HDRx on this one actually. Wanted the blown out background specifically. A testament that this camera can really do whatever you want it to! http://vimeo.com/24538614
