  1. #1 Peerless Blue Fish wireless HDMI
Has anyone tried the Blue Fish HDS100 wireless unit? It uses 802.11n instead of WHDI but claims to have <30ms latency and 130 ft range.

It seems to have other advantages over other systems, like being 12v powered and accepting up to 4 receivers. It is not limited to HDMI since it also has composite/component inputs/outputs. No SDI of course.

Signal is compressed to H264. I haven't been able to figure out if there is a way to get the signal directly to your laptop. I'm guessing it could be used similarly to Teradek's Cube with some firware upgrades?

B&H sells it for less than $400.

Seems like an interesting solution somewhere in-between Brite-View / Asus Wicast and Teradek Cube...

PS: I have no affiliation to them, nor have I tested it. Just wondering if it will work with the Red One.

Edit: Found a video describing it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZH10z-Lf0k

I'd also like to know if anyone has used this system.

Looks nice, especially the peerless part. Most of the other units work only with one receiver.
Seems to be a bit bigger than the Asus unfortunately, too bad they don't make a lighter version with just the HDMI connectors...

Super compact WHDI solutions based on Amimon's chip are already available from chinese wholesalers. I expect the usual suspects (Asus, Brite-View) to start selling them this month or next...

We ought to be seeing a lot of interesting products integrating this technology, such as tablets which could make elegant director/client monitors.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sony(who is part of the WHDI consortium) started integrating it into their consumer cameras.

I called amimon and the whdi stick will not have the same solid 100-150 range as the brightview or Asus. The rep said that it would be able to do 30 ft reliably more possible with absolutely nothing in the way of the signal.

Would be cool if Red could include WHDI in one of the I/O modules...

But it looks like it would plug right into the Epic brain HDMI and small enough to not be dangerous. Even for 30 feet, no wires (and apparently quite cheap) is a pretty big deal.
