I must say that while nice, Jim's clip is a wee soft. I mean with that that I've seen RED 4K grabs with clearly more resolution than this one. I don't know if that's a problem with the old mount or something. If anyone can confirm...

    Anyway, here's a 2K try:

I would like to ask either Mark from Offhollywood or the people from Red Dirt Rising to make publicly available one of their R3D files since I count some of them as the sharpest I've seen so far.

Remember the one of the models, Mark?

eh man there's a big difference between filming live action as it happens, in this case enormous powerful motor vehicles moving unpredictably and incredibly fast, and filming a set up where you can measure and measure again..
come on people, we all know that..

    Thanks a lot.

    Great!

    Let me try out.

    More later.

I'm not attacking anyone. I think the softness, which is similar as the one you see in Mike's Curtis footage, comes from a problem they have acknowledged and are working to solve.
And it's not that big an issue since the 2K is completely usable. Focusing this with a closed iris and at that distance shouldn't be a big problem. To me it looks as a backfocus thing.

It sounds like the link for the 3rd file is broken. I can't dowload it. Any ideas guys?
