I'm guessing it's in there but it's so similar to 2K in framerates that it wasn't worth a separate line item.

One thing to know is that we are not sandbagging these numbers. There is no way to get 5K full frame at 120fps for example.

With Epic -S having, as previously stated, roughly half the data throughput of an Epic-X or M this means a small but significant step up from the Red one in terms of frame rates (especially at higher resolutions), which given the pricing and other amazing benefits of the DSMC system like HDRx and 5K, form factor, interface etc. is pretty compelling.

Epic-S calculated approximate 16:9 framerates based on 50% of Epic -X & M data throughput (I work mostly on commercials so this is the most relevant aspect ratio to me)
    5K @ 48fps
    4K @ 60fps
    3K @ 80fps
    2K @ 120fps

    at 2.4:!

    5K @ 60fps
    4K @ 75fps
    3K @ 100fps
    2K @ 150fps

pretty sweet and possibly enough for a most situations - unless of course you use HDRx then half it again. Which makes me wonder... Will Epic -S be able to do 25fps HDRx in 5K 16:9 mode? I sure hope so! (as does every other person living in a 50Hz country!) ;-)

I asked this question a few months ago and Jim replied that yes 5k 25fps 16:9 with HDRx is going to be on the Epic-S. If not that would be a major reason not to buy an Epic-S in Europe. So the specs are supposedly a little higher than 1/2 Epic

    360 FPS !!!!!!!!
    BAD ASS!!!!

    I so missed this thread,

I was in HK shooting 24 hours ago on the REDONE, 300 FPS would have saved my arse!
So Jim, When does the new update come out for these wonderful numbers.

I had a look through this thread but couldn't find whether these rates are for CROPPED sensor or SCALED.

I am assuming it is for cropped. Anybody?

It will be for cropped. Scaling would introduce additional processing which would take away from the max frame rate.

That's the way it has always worked for higher frame rates on the RED ONE :)
