They have a lot to offer on here, but they didn't mention anything about 3D, the interface looks like iMovie Pro, they got rid of the Viewer...

There are somethings that I dislike, a lot of things I like, but it'll be hard opening up a professional program that looks like a program my grandmother could use on her $999 MacBook.

thats what I felt...especially since the entire suite is killed, theres no upgrade price (300 isn't a lot but it's almost like everyone that has upgraded till that point should need to start fresh?)

I definitely feel though every time I'm going to open this I'm using iMovie which for me, seemed so much more difficult to use then FCP or FCE, I love the new features, it's the look I'm no fan of but I guess it'll grow on me considering the features are quite welcome,

will know more when the damn FCS page gets updated...surprised they didn't take it down during the talk to replace it now...like they do with all their announcements, maybe there is more to come and this is a sneak preview?

Imran, why do you state that "the entire suite is killed?" Where are you getting that information? I cannot stand all of the assumptions that people post here. I have seen nothing that FCPS is "killed."

at the end, fair enough it's probably but its a pretty clear that it's more then likely happening that the suite is killed in favor of a one stop shop app, since Color and Soundtrack are both now in FCP X, that leaves Compressor and Motion to be dealt with... Compressor can easily be placed into the App and FCS last update didn't really do much for DVD Studio...
at the same time the Mac App store doesn't do packages, the Final Cut program alone is $300...

Apologizes if it's annoying but it's not throwing darts blindly, it's just where the bread crumbs seem to lead, I'm happy to be wrong, I love the suite, I don't like the look for the new FCP X but I love the features, perhaps a different color scheme? But never the less, if they've integrated two major programs, what does that leave for the suite?

    EDIT:

As I do realize that it's a blurry image etc. and so on, it's still an iMovie look which is my only issue, like I've said, it'll grow on me probably but it's just the thought of it looking even remotely like iMovie that annoys me a bit because I despise the new iMovie versus the new one, not out of fear of change but rather just the look and the way it works, thankfully FCP X doesn't work the same it looks like, its just the visual that is similar

They did mention this is in beta, so they may have a few more things to offer that they weren't ready to show just yet.

The UI just blows. I hate it. And I agree with the whole "iMovie seemed so much more difficult" mindset. I'm glad they finally have ColorSync managing color, hopefully that will fix all the shitty gamma issues we've all experienced between .mov clips.

Based on this list of specs and the price point I'm pretty excited, I haven't made up my mind on the interface though, until I see more than one screenshot and a quick video clip I will simply say it has a lot of potential.
This is defiantly little more then a sneak peek as Apple.com has no information that I can see of find on the product, it's still final cut pro 7 on apple.com

Craig, that is WAY too calm and sane. You must choose tonight, within one hour of the first blurry image, whether you forever LOVE or vehemently HATE the interface and the new software! Make your choice!

    ha ha. sarcasm off.

Granted a lot of us are bitching and complaining, Adobe just showed off an incredible updated for CS5 which included EPIC support, along with some great AE implementation. For production companies such as mine that integrate After Effects with RED footage on almost all shoots, this may be a logical choice to move to.

Not everyone has the same workflows. I'm sure iMovie Pro...errr, FCPx will work well for a lot of individuals or production companies. I'll be using FCP 7 until my next choice is made.

PLEASE! Tell me more! How does FCPX make you feeeeeeel? It seems like the UI is making you angry, are you currently prescribed anything to help control this anger? . .

Don't be confused folks, it will be very difficult to find and "discussion" on anything final cut related for at least a couple of days... ;) Look people, all the little detailed questions you might have probably won't be answered from random tweets and blurry photos/videos. If your business depends on how successful the next FCP release will be. . .

A word of advice. Chill the FUCK out.

Final Cut Pro X is clearly making an simple reference as did QuickTime Player X to new QuickTime technology that started with Snow Leopard, and that is not a bad thing, i would guess this means QTKit is getting the update it deserves for Lion and that is good for MANY applications on OS X. June is looking good for a release around Lion.

Looks like a great improvement to me, they had me at Grand Central, OpenCL, so on and so forth. First application to pretty much take advantage of all the technologies they discussed for Snow Leopard? The current FCP UI is not terrible, but it is far from good, this looks like a great improvement. If you are upset because it has the same color scheme as iMovie I don't really have anything to say to you. About anything, ever.

Anyway, will be great to get all the details, but it looks like format support will be there, and all the shit I hate about FCP now is completely gone, from what I have seen, hard to complain.
