    guys..

    1. when will stage 3 start shipping.

    and does

    2. the epic have onboard audio like the 5d mkii so i can match with in post off of a h4n.

    if not..

    3. then are the two little mic input thingies at the face of the camera made for like one of those normal shitty mic shotguns on amazon. I seriously dont like audio guys touching my camera. so thats exactly what i want.

    aaand

    4. where can i mount the crappy shot gun mic.. are there like threads n stuff i can adapt to plug on

    please no lamers - telling me this "aint the way you do it."

    1. No one knows. Maybe this summer.

    3. the two 1/8" TRS inputs are designed for audio input, either a crappy mic if you prefer, or a nice mic. There are some pretty good sounding low cost mics for this purpose. At NAB I saw a little button mic that mounts right on the Epic input and turns it into a Canon-like camera mic.

    4. If you let an audio guy touch your camera, you'll get much better sound.

    There's A-box from x accessories if you're looking for a beefier attachment than the 1/8" (http://www.x.com/store) it's pretty inexpensive.

    I agree with James about letting your audio guy touch the camera though, you'll get better quality audio that's easier to sync in post. Plus giving them a little respect instead of immediately assuming they're a bunch of bumbling idiots who will inevitably break our gear seems like a good professional courtesy to give the person who's capturing the words your actors are working so hard to deliver correctly. If you're not using the PRO I/O module it sort of a moot point though as I don't believe the brain alone allows for jamsyncing...
