    Hi Alexey,

I used Master Primes for most of the shots, but also used the RED PRO ZOOM 17-50.

For this shots I used Master Primes, with Master Diopters, staking them.

    Most welcome Alexey.

Well, unfortunately in my professional experience, no matter what other tell you, or like to believe, only the best tools will allow for the very best results, if you are good you can get great results no mater what, but if you are good, and also happen to have the best tools money can buy, well, then you'll get even better and greater results... ;)

But I also will come out and say that I did have achieved great results also with the RED Canon Mount, and Canon "L" series glass, just don't expect to have it blown up to 4k and hold the same detail as the same image shot with a high end Cinema lens, such as a Leica prime, Master Prime, Ultra Prime or RED Prime.

But go out there, experiment, shoot with what you can get, and have fun.

I promise you that the time in which you will be able to afford the best, will be granted to you, if you do dedicate yourself to what you love.

Thank you Ketch a lot as always!
I am not a good in post but I am trying to by cheap lenses now I know it is very hard to give advice about choosing lenses
and I am very scrupulous in picture especially in cinematic and saturation for example (may be it as amateurishness) but I see a lot of cinematic footage which is cinematic but not saturation enough and even dull and it looks like old movies for example.

    http://vimeo.com/36007896 or this http://vimeo.com/23751480

And I want to get picture very cinematic and very saturation at the same time.

    for example

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ck002...eature=related or

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/4350664...57628115838540

For example your picture above is very smooth (cinematic) and sharp and saturation at the same time
So I have to ask you (sorry:)) is it possible to get such cinematic and color saturation picture on Epic with Zeiss ZE or Zeiss Contax or Nikorr Lenses (that I am choosing between them)?

    Thank you

    Always a pleasure Alexey.

What you ask is actually very simple, and any lens can give you a Cinematic look, and or any one can achieve a saturated image.

Cinematic effect, is very often interpreted with images shot with SDOF (shallow depth of field) meaning at wide open aperture or close to it in order to blur our the BG (back ground as much as possible) which this in turn has different look depending on how many blades are in the inner elements that compose the Lens, and what shape they create.

Of course depending on distance of Subject top camera and BG to subject there might no need at all to go wide open and even stay at the lens usual best spot, form 4 to T5.6 this been sweet spot of most lenses.

While the very best lenses do nice even WO (wide Open).

Cinematic is also same as Saturation, a fill and a look that is created during acquisition with the use of a Polarizer filter, and in Post finished to fit the individual filmmaker's taste, by color grading and processing the images as needed.

Of course Cinematic is also a particular way of framing your subjects which does bring one's work apart form the other.

What I'm trying to say, is that any and every lens can give a cinematic look and fill and pr Saturation, its all about capturing the image with proper framing and proper exposure, use Polarizer when you can, I use it all the time, and must have a nice post grading to the images.

Ketch I believe you hit the nail on the head when you said:

I tell people all the time it's the person not the tools, but the tools do play a ROLE thanks for this statement.

I truly believe that the Tool is half the Job, given of course that you do know how to use it... ;)

In this case the choice is easy, Canon "L" series, as the Zeiss are not even close to be as good, they really don't compare to neither Canon "L" series, not sure what is happening at Zeiss as of late, but the Still glass as well as their new Compact Primes, even the II don't make what used to be the name of Zeiss any justice.

    Thanks Ketch!

Could you please give me advice if is possible to compare.
If compare Leica R with Canon L (for cinema shooting)?
    For example Leica 50mm Summilux f1.4 or 80 mm 1,4 or compare with Canon L 50 mm 1,2 or 85 1,2?
    (or maybe Leica M Leica Summicron-M 50mm f/2)
