Both Red Alert and Red Cine function correctly. Red Cine however will not exit and a (battery out) power down is required to restart mac
System 1:
Macbook Pro
2.33GHz C2D, 2GB, ATI X1600, OSX 10.5.1
Everything seems to work OK, render times are on par with what others are reporting. However, my shot icons do not display images of the clips, they are just grey boxes in both the player and library. Everything else seems to be working just as it should.
...Somewhat confused over the grey box problem. Because I don't have that problem on system #2. ...Is it an OSX 10.5 / Leopard issue?
System #2:
Apple iMac 24" 2.33GHz C2D, 2 GB, ATI X1600, OSX 10.4.11
All working just fine, speed seems the same as on the Macbook Pro. No grey box/icon problem.
System 3:
AMD X2 2.4GHz Dual-Core
2GB RAM, nVidia nForce4 chipset, EVGA G-Force 7800GTX 512MB
Windows XP, updated current, latest drivers from nVidia.com.
Everything works great. Playback is choppy unless it's on 1/4 res high or a lower setting than that. Overall, speed seems to be on par with my Macbook Pro. Render out Tiff sequence is SLOW!!! ~724 frames or whatever for two clips in the timeline took about 38 minutes, much slower than I expected for this system since it's still a pretty good sysem for everything else. HDD is not a bottleneck, system had two 500GB 7200rpm Hitachi drives in a RAID-0 as the work drive.
System 4: (just tried this one for grins)
AMD FX-55 single core with G-Force 6800 Ultra video card, 2GB RAM and nForce-2 chipset.
All working very well, but it's slower than the other systems.
Will be testing on an 8-core (dual 2.66GHz quad-core) PC tomorrow afternoon. It's running Vista with 8GB of RAM, will be interesting to see what happens when REDCINE can have a bit over 3GB allocated to it. Video card in that system is an nVidia 8800GTS, don't remember how much onboard video memory (512MB I think).
I will try to test a couple Mac Pro systems over the next week, but don't know when/if I'll get to that. They're not my systems and I don't have them directly available. I'll be upgrading my G5 Quad to a new Intel-based Mac Pro once Apple updates their offerings.
I've fixed the grey box issue with the Macbook Pro. Removing REDCINE and then re-installing seems to have fixed it.
System #01 : Home PC
Vista32 Home Premium
Q6600 (G0) stock
2Gb Ram
XFX 8800gts 640Mb XXX
Runs sweet as :) Load, shot, colour, output, all good.
---
System #02 :Work PC
XP Pro sp2
E4400 stock
2Gb Ram
ATI X1650
Does everything except output. all outputs garbled or black :(
Can see clips across the network (Linux servers, OSX & PC work stations) and local drives but cannot create clips.

System #03 :Work OSX
OSX (10.4.10)
2x 3Gb QuadCore Xeon
8Gb Ram
RadeonX1900 video card
Runs sweet as from local raid drives :) Load, shot, colour, output, all good.
Yet to test transcoding across the network.
iMac Intel Core 2 duo 2.16
Nvidia GeForce 7300GT
OSX 10.4.11
1 GB RAM
Loads great, plays back 5-10 fps. Exports only black QT files in all formats. It seems to take the time to render everything out, but when I check the QT file, it's just black.
Image sequence export seems to work.
Any ideas?
athlon 64x2 dual 4800+ 2.41 ghz
3 gb ram
Nvidia geforce 7800 gtx
xp sp2
works fine with both clips. qt (h264 and cineform) output only the 1st frame
Intel core duo 3 GHz
2 GB RAM
Nvidia 8600 GTS
XP SP2
Preview fine, generates usable output with some codecs.
Prior to the installation of the Nvidia, had an ATI Radeon X600 installed. With that video card, no output with any attempted codec, was usable. Similar failed results with two other machines with ATI graphics cards (X1300 & X1900) installed.
well first test on an IBM laptop T43p, running xp 32 bit SP2, ATI Mobility FIRE GL V3200 (will update for the driver, but haven't access to it right now)
CC and scale 2k REDCODE RAW and export to 720p jpeg A animation (.mov), quite long, but work fine.
antoine.
Playback is realtime at 1/2 res. High on Mac Pro 8 core, 9GB RAM, Leopard 10.5.1, ATI Radeon X1900XT, RAID-5.
At Full res. High playback is very slow.
