I'm a very lucky boy!! It's been a long time coming but yesterday I bought my first RED camera with the option to upgrade to Epic X. So I guess I'm in the club.... I hope I'm not too late for the part!

I want to come up to speed quickly but I'm finding it difficult to source any online training (that goes beyond fitting the production pack and the lens - I have that nailed!). I'm really looking for any exposure, false color, traffic light type tutorials. I can find my way around the menu's fine and understand all of tha but as I'm coming from an ENG and DSLR background I don't want to start off on the wrong foot.

I don't mind paying for tutorials either if there's anything out there. I've looked at fxguide but it just seems to be podcasts of things happening in the RED world and not actually a 'how to' guide.

Have I missed a crucial pdf on the RED support page that might help? I'm in the UK so a Reducation day in the USA would be difficult.

Thank you in advance for any links or info you might have available.

+1 The DVD covers the camera very nicely. Great work, Jay!

    With respect,

A lot of people learn more efficiently when they can watch live action while having something explained to them. RTFM is not always the best answer. I personally don't mind reading manuals, but many have trouble making sense of the words in relation to the physical object or action they must perform.

David, can you keep me posted on how you found the DVD, and if it does indeed cover MX specific issues?
