A 256 G ssd drive fell out of a bag today when the zipper was not closed correctly. I will not name names as to where to point the blame, but i take full responsibility.

the purpose of this post is to let everyone know that either in manhattan (soho) or in brooklyn a 256 G ssd card was lost. it had p-touch label on it with the letters, RED31 on it. plus of course the standard RED logos for the SSD.

if you see this card or hear about one being sold on ebay please let me know , i am certain whom ever picked it up off the ground will have no idea what it is or what it is worth. i will pay a reward of course.

thank you for your help. the card is full of images of ja rule, brooklyn, manhattan and times square.

Fortunately it was from yesterdays shoot and all the footage was downloaded, transcoded and replicated, so it is safe.

I like stories with happy endings. The hershey bar size of the SSDs makes them very convenient, but more susceptible to slipping out of a pouch or what like. Emphasizes the important of fresh off the camera backups.

Hey Dino, it was a surprise seeing a red user in Harlem yesterday. I'm the carpenter that ran into you filming the building entrance. I loved your setup, kinda wish I could justify buying a red epic...but who knows....

Wow, I'm amazed it was found! I suppose the card was plastered with your contact info, though...

That makes me wonder about marking SSD's. Mine have not arrived but would it be possible to etch information on these drives or would that compromise the integrity of the SSD? Really glad you got yours back Mark. That would ruin your day in a hurry!!

I'm seriously thinking about laser-etching mine... Another option is to stencil them with an epoxy-paint or something similar that would be near impossible to remove without grinding it off. Maybe I'll get ambitious and try something this weekend.

Laser etching sounds expensive... But while you're at it, you may as well etch all your SSDs, the camera body, primes? haha
