Thanks Kobe and Brice!
I am not really planning to repeat that effort. What I am planning is to learn to know the Epic to a reasonable level before we start shooting big productions on it. The Alexa comparison will be more of a sidenote. But these tests will roll untill september and the Epic is getting new firmware quite frequently, so there's really no point in doing such a writeup on these two cameras at this stage... if ever...
There are intersting things to compare, though. So I'l concentrate on those.
When I wrote the Alexa and R1 MX thing, it had a very specific purpose for those I wrote it for, which was basically:
Find out if we should continue doing our series on RED or not, despite the Epic being... if not "late" at least not in our hands when we had hoped to use it.
I would of course continue working on RED myself, but that was not a too obvious choice for my employers until we had tested the cameras, images and workflows.
AND both of those cameras were officially "done" (but still improving).
NOW the focus is more like: Look at all the fun stuff we can do with this totally groundbreaking toy.
Alexa is really not a part of the equations for most of my employers...
Different writeup... :-)
And I get to shoot a lot. Me likes!
