Can anyone help? I've been trying to render footage for Media Composer using the REDCINE-X 470 and I got this error:

    My settings are as follows:
    Avid AAF & MXF - 1080p/25 DNxHD 36 8-bit
    Debayer Settings = 2k - 1/2 good, 3k - 1/2 good, 4k - 1/4

    What did I miss?

Please send the log file ("save report" under help) to redcinex at red dt com.

Also, check the patch and the filename. The avid toolkit doesn't like spaces and uppercase.

patch and the filename? I'm not sure what you mean by that.

Anyway, I've sent the log file.

    Thanks Deanan.

Guessing he meant "path" and filename.

Have you restarted? Sometimes my RCX issues go away.

Deanan is referring to the destination path where the files are being saved to.

I had the same error when I updated my red rocket card with the latest firmware.

I installed the older firmware, made got the card working again with an older REDCINE, then I turned the computer off for 10 minutes. Reinstalled the current firmware, deleted all references to Red cine X, rebooted after shutting down for 10 minutes again. Reinstalled the latest REDCINE and it worked.

I think there was a bug in the installer from the last version, i did notice that Jim sent a link to the latest version just recently.

This happened on my PC which i a HP Z400, works great now.

I don't have a RED Rocket card installed on my Mac. I've sent the log. Hopefully they'll figure it out.

Funny thing is, I can transcode to DNxHD in MC5.0, with my clip names turning into Axxx_Cxxx_XXXXXX.new. This is impractical as I would like to render on-set and bring to post at end of shoot.

BTW, I'm on an 8-core Mac Pro (Mid-2010 model)

I have had no problems transcoding to DNxHD in REDCINE X software only mode. I am on an older MacbookPro, 32 bit mode. I've tried video only and video with audio R3D files.

Maybe go to avid and download the latest DNX codec as it is free and try again

No need to download the DNxHD codec as REDCINE X uses the Avid Media Toolkit to create native wrapped DNxHD with MXF. My destination folder is at the root level of the drive and is simply labelled RedCineOut. This keeps the UNC path short and simple. I am also assuming that the frame rate of the R3D files matches the DNxHD rate chosen and all that good stuff? Can you post a short sample of an R3D file that does not transcode?
