    Hi all,
I just bought two sets of the Sennheiser EW100-ENG G2 wireless Mic's. Planning to use them with the Z1 setup for topside stuff on this next shoot but also for future RED projects. Any audio buffs know much about them?

They are amazing for the price. Great battery life. Excellent range. Really easy to tweak. All in all a great product.

But throw away the mic that came with it and get a real one when you can.

I just bought two of these. I have not used them yet and Chris suggests they are good for the price.

I have a set of the first generation Sennheiser Evolution lapel radio mics, which I use with my Z1, and I agree that the transmitter/receivers are pretty good (for the price) but the mic that comes with them is pretty mediocre. I gather the second generation ones are better than mine, but the mic is still poor. I've replaced the lapel mic with a Sanken COS-11 which I'm very pleased with.

You might take a look at Tram mics.

I have 3 Sanken COS-11's and can vouch for their quality. Another one to look at is Countryman B6. It's smaller than the Sanken, but a little more fragile too. For sound quality, I favor the Sanken, but it's very close (and subjective). Both are much better than the lav included with the G2 kit.

The COS-11 red dot version has lower sensitivity. I have the non-red dot version, and I think they're fine for speech.

    Lots of discussions at dvxuser.com.
