well if this doesn't provide some sort of an example of how easy it is to shoot with an EPIC, I dont know what will...

I was driving to NH from NYC on the Merritt Parkway, if you never have driven this road, you must, ( put it on your bucket list now). as i was driving, i thought the road was so New England looking and kind of pretty and creepy as things are right after the snow melts, that it deserves to be captured with EPIC, so I literally reached over to the passenger seat and grabbed the camera, booted it up, set the focus and iris and rolled, all while driving.

this was a few months ago, but i saw this footage again today and despite the shaky-ness of it i thought it was interesting enough to share.

    so enjoy.

shot with brook's EPIC and my old 18-50 red zoom, it was the closest one to me when i decided to shoot as i was driving, mine was buried in the back seat. this was from inside my rental car and i guess i could have added some sort of music to this, but no time. My guess is i was driving about 70 MPH (maybe more).

Quick boot, hold it with one hand. Seems totally simple to just grab shots when you need them. Can't wait to get mine...

I love the concept that if the moment strikes and I decide to spontaneously shoot something, that I'll be thrilled with the results. That's the point right?

I was on my daily walk around Pt. Dume with my DSLR camera, which takes great stills, and was at the top of the cliff looking down and decided to shoot some video of the seals out on the rocks, just for kicks. I got it home and there is so much moire in the water that I wouldn't even email it to friends to show them.

The EPIC really appeals to me on so many levels. Right now my work is personal, I don't want, or need a crew to shoot, so the most important idea for me is that EPIC will allow me, just me, to shoot motion pictures that are of amazing quality.

But when the time comes for larger productions it has already been proven that EPIC is more than ready for that too.

BTW, the speed limit on the Merritt is 55, but trust me, I understand.

i meant 55...officer... and yes that is the point...it is ready for those quick spontaneous moments, even at 55 MPH.

One would expect a camera that cost a couple of thousand bucks is going to have limitations right? For 60k I'm also going to expect less moire.

Well the point I was trying to make, but obviously didn't, was that the fantastically good EPIC is equally usable for a solo shooter in tourist mode as well as shooting on major feature films. Wasn't comparing price but usability, as was dino.

And I hate shooting something and being disappointed with the image later.

That's great! Hope you don't mind but I couldn't resist doing a 1 minute smoothcam treatment to see what happened.

Bet with another 5 minutes attention you could create a perfectly smooth shot from this, even though it was handheld while you were driving!

Nice to have all that resolution to play with!

What format is this thing in? This is the only one of your clips I can't play in VLC.

Not that I mind opening QT, just curious.
