I'm just curious as to wether or not anybody knows what each pin on the LCD Output from the camera provides? I know it's a 17 pin..... I'd imagine one of them to be a ground...... what are the other 16?

The pin out is not posted anywhere as its a custom interface to the RED-LCD, (as is the RED-EVF) so you can't just break out video signals for example.

If you need to build an extension cable of different length than the ones we offer, then please send us an e-mail to the red support page.

You can physically connect wires to BNC connectors, but if it's a proprietary digital signal (as it sounds like), then only the Red monitor will show anything useful from it.

I didn't realize they were enabled yet. Was I sleeping?
EDIT: Oh right, it's one or the other.

I'm assuming he wanted a higher quality signal?? Or he just preferred that monitor?

its for sure not a HD15, as its not analog. As its "based on" DVI, I assume it being rather a split between controller and diaplay, like the cables inside laptops to drive the screen. Some kind of LVDS maybe.

He probably used that monitor so he could pass the HD-SDI signal out from the camera onto video village and playback. We've been using an 8.5" HD-SDI Panasonic monitor for this on set since the cameras shipped.
