By the way, for everyone using Google Docs, you can make a copy of the spreadsheet into your own private area and then price out your own configurations. It's really handy to tell the difference between ordering this year or next.

I was surprised to see that if you order the same set of parts as the EPIC-M after the first of the year, you'll only save $3650. That's only a 6.7% savings. So I'm thinking maybe just go ahead and buy the EPIC-M now.

1) If you decide to keep your RED you only end up paying $19,500 for your EPIC.

2) In case you resell your used RED ONE MX below market let say $19500. Therefore your Upgrade to EPIC- X was free.
You end up paying for you EPIC X- $17,500

STAGE 3
Exchange your RED for and EPIC-X for $10,500.
You end up paying for you EPIC X- $28,000
17,500 CREDIT + 10,500 UpGrade = $28,000

I think many of us were a bit confused as to what and how the stages may have worked....as soon as i sat down and did the actual math on it and laid it all out....i said why am I opting for stage 3 on one of my two cameras....i IMMEDIATELY called RED and switched my 2nd RED to a STAGE 2.....WoW, was that the right decision.

Stage 3 makes more sense if you never went MX; you won't sell a RED with original M sensor for $17.5k, but RED will still give you that much in credit when you trade it in.

The bean counters at RED must be bleeding from all orifices at the very thought, but they don't get it the way Jim & Jarred do; people will remember this deal *for ever*, and it'll make RED customers of them for life.

As I said to Jarred once before, people like being treated right. This is treating people far better than simply 'right'.

Maybe I'm not fully understanding your question but I would guess any company that can put one and one together would see that there is going to be price increases. It's just a matter of whether they want to publicly announce it. So with that said, my answer for you would be, I don't have enough time to list them all.

If this qualifies as Stage 4, open to everyone, Jim said all stages would be available before the end of the year.

If Stage 4 only qualifies for people with Red Ones, then this is a very good question...

Available to RED ONE camera owners that were invoiced by RED or completed the official RED ownership transfer process after May 22, 2010 ( as well as all non-RED ONE owners)

Just thought about bringing this back up. The Epic is Shipping and its good to put everything into perspective. I am really curious to know what Jim and Co. will do to all the Red Ones that are traded in for the Epic? A Museum? :)
