    Hey,

First: I plan on getting some RED Volts for my EPIC-X when its released, but I was also looking for some other batteries & battery Plates that can be used with the EPIC.

I've been told that the Element Technica Battery Interface & V Dock Kit is good and takes the Anton Bauer Dionic HC Battery

    http://www.elementtechnica.com/products/view.php?p=54
    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...DIONIC_HC.html

Just wondering if anyone is using such a combination and how long your getting power to the EPIC for with each battery (on average! I know it depends on what other accessories your running through the camera.)

Or does anyone have any other ideas?

My other thought is to run with the RED battery plate & get 2 x RED Power Packs with the RED Bricks - I believe they give about 3 hours power to the EPIC per Brick, so mounting that on say the Clutch or Sticks would give me about 12 hours of power (about!)

    Anyone with any other thoughts?

    Steve

Steve, I would recommend waiting until your Epic-X is ready because there will tons more options at that time. Brook Willard, Red, and Action Products all have things coming out soon, and I'm sure there will be others.

Good advice Adam. I've got an Epic-M and am waiting for some of these accessories. I can make do with what I have until all the options are out on the table.

Appreciate that Adam. I know its a time factor and that there are more and more options available every day. Just trying to get a handle on the power options available at the moment and what I'm going to need / afford when EPIC-X hits...

Hello Steve (and thanks for the mention Adam)! ActionProducts has a V-Mount in the works (or Gold Mount/Anton Bauer) that will work great with that battery. Here is an EPIC set-up with some of our upcoming accessories on it. Products shown: V-Mount (or Anton Bauer mount), Top Plate Pro (Power + Video Distributor), Riser Bottom Plate, Audio Adapter, and our 15mm Lightweight Rod Assembly

-Audio Adapter allows for the 2 3.5 mm jacks to be used as Pro XLRs instead
-The Riser plate for industry standard spacing for attachments like matteboxes
-15mm rod assembly that neatly covers the 3.5 mm plugs and uses industry standard 15mm spacing
-V Mount / (Gold Mount / Anton Bauer) to power the EPIC directly or Power the Top Plate
-Top Plate for Power and Video Distribution

We (Innocinema, exclusive retailer for ActionProducts) have a thread here, or blog here, where we post all our updates! These products will be available very very soon! :)

Soon, as in possibly ready to ship next week soon?! If not, I'm going to have to go with the ET option unfortunately - though the ActionProducts one looks slick.

    Justin,

Thanks for that. I know we have chatted (can I say that?) on Twitter (@futuristfilm).

The battery plate looks really cool on the back of the EPIC. Is that a RED Brick you have on the back? How much power time do you get on the EPIC using that? The other accessories all look fantastic and I regularly check out your website.

Any idea when the accessories will be available and the cost of them?

One of these powers the Epic for about an hour and a half. Great, well made batteries. The charger is fantastic too! (And British made!)

    Hey guys,

I'm looking for quick, inexpensive way to power the Epic with Anton Bauer Gold Mount Dionic 90s (I already have a couple from previous cameras that I would like to use). I was just going to buy the Red Battery Belt clip ($290) and then a V-Mount to Gold Mount adaptor. I'm assuming this is the correct adaptor for what I need? http://antonbauer.com/Products/QRA200
It sells on B&H for $116.39 bringing my total to $406.39. This is the most inexpensive way I see to go (without having to mount plates to rail systems) while utilizing my current batteries.
    Any advice/suggestions?

    Thanks!

Hey Brian -this adaptor would probably work...the V-mount is somewhat unreliable due to the fact they can become disconnected from the camera without much effort (an accidental bump with an elbow for example) so the Anton Bauer system is superior...however I have so many Sony BP-L90's and Red Bricks that we found that so long as there's an angle to prevent them from sliding off then it's all good. And I think that's been supported with Red's new AKS (which I've already ordered) with the wedge, and Justin's battery plate.

We've been using the universal mount and then the Red Quickplate off the rods. It's solid this way, and when we're doing long form we also have the dual-sided mount from Switronix.
