EPIC is being built by an American company that was initially called a scam.

EPICs are built in the USA (California actually).

EPICs have more resolution than any digital motion capture camera... at 120fps.

EPICs have more dynamic range than you need natively... and HDRx if you need more. More than any other camera including film.

EPIC is the size of a Hasselblad... which shoots one frame a second BTW.

EPIC is upgradeable. Actually... it is also the upgrade.

EPICs are shooting most every major budget feature film for every studio.

EPIC is shipping. It is not a figment of the imagination. Almost 1000 EPICs are in the wild.

EPIC is not finished. And EPIC customers don't bleed when things get better. Most every upgrade is free. As is REDCINE-X.

EPIC footage looks like 65mm film on the big screen (without grain).

EPIC costs less to own than any other professional motion capture camera.

EPIC is the least expensive professional motion camera to shoot. Thanks to REDCODE and SSDs.

EPIC is the least expensive and easiest professional motion camera to post.

EPIC is the smallest and lightest professional motion camera. By a lot.

You can extract "Getty worthy" still images from an EPIC motion stream.

    EPIC images are IMAX capable.

I like EPIC. I love the EPIC development team.

I might add that some of the benefits Jim lists make Epic particularly nice for owner operators. Small, light, cheap to shoot and sensitive enough to shoot in virtually any ambient lighting condition makes the Epic a terrific personal camera between gigs.

Thanks to entire Red Team for the best camera it has ever been my pleasure to operate. (note I started shooting video on 1/2" reel to reel in 1974 so I have used over 25 professional cameras in the last 37 years).

    Cheers - #19

Maybe you and your team deserve a three year holiday now...
(but seriously, not yet - another shade of Red yet to come :) )

I get the feeling - on no evidence, just a feeling - that the RED ONE was the totally usable working proof of concept... but EPIC is the real deal, the camera that was in your head, right from the start, when you first started thinking about doing this.
