In another thread, Meryem, Mark and others, including myself, shared a need for a thread about rigging EPIC - with detailed images and descriptions of EPIC setups - not the ins and outs of the camera, covered well in other threads, but practical, detailed descriptions of your rigging of accessories, mechanically. If we could all share that here I think it would benefit the many in our positions - those gearing up for EPIC X or M, and wanting to sort through the divergent threads, buzzwords, acronyms, labels and bazillion options for baseplates, cheeseplates, arms, battery plates and such - for rigging, well, the rig.

Please post as may photos and details of your setup as you can.
What baseplates, quick releases, arms, battery plates, shoulder rigs, rods, doodads and screws, and so on are you using to mount what stuff how?
    WHY did you use them?
How much do they cost and where did you get them?
What do you like and dislike about the parts you are using, or have used?
We are not looking for what monitors, batteries, etc you used and why - more the mounting and rigging of them.
It would be good to stick to what we are using, more so than what we want/saw/is coming out later, here.

Maybe Mark and Meryem could begin, as they thought the thread was needed.

I think the issue is that there are so many different threads that have people posting configurations. There are some threads in Recon, several in the Epic-M owners area, etc.

    Here is my current configuration.

Although I think the RED batteries are brilliant, the V-mount is WAY too problematic for me, so my stuff is all AB. Hopefully new AB plates will be available soon with the Epic power lemo. The RED One to Epic lemo adapter makes for a loooong cable.

I think the ET EVF mount rigged off a sideways oriented handle is a good solution for attaching the Bomb EVF for those of us that are not happy with "set and lock" mounts. The ET EVF mount is too big for the Bomb EVF, but currently provides the only solution that allows flexible positioning AND is also clutched so it can tilt quickly or while operating a shot.

The quick release with 15mm LW rods that Jarred just showed is just what I have been waiting for. This will allow for a 19mm studio set-up that pops off into a 15mm LW set-up. I can work an MMF-1 off the LW rods, or a remote FF motor rigged off the top 19mm rods for HH work.

This is a snapshot my assistant took on my first shoot last week with the Epic M on a Mantis with a Kenyon gyro on the back and a Red brick on my belt (with the Kenyon battery pack). Duclos 11-16 with MB15 mattebox. Nothing too special, but the rig sure feels better on the shoulder than the Red One does. Less weight, much better balance. I received the REDmote today and am trying to rig a way to mount it on the Mantis handle so I can reach the big red button. Or I'll just let my assistant struggle to carry the REDmote and push the button...
BTW, I had the Epic mounted in a car yesterday for driver POV shots. It sure is nice to have the much smaller and lighter form factor. The camera had to be where the driver's head normally is, and there had to be room for the driver to , well, drive. I am loving this camera...

    Here mine...

For a 10 days handheld shoot/doing myself the focus. 8 kg. The smallest and lightest package I managed to do.

Brook Willard top plate "FMJ top plate by ViewFactor" http://www.viewfactor.net/index.php/...fmj-top-x.html

The shoulder pad and battery plate are made by ActionProducts (I used only the detachable shoulder pad that I screwed on the top plate).

    RED Outrigger handle http://www.red.com/store/rail-compon...mc-left-handle

As the weight of the Lightweight matte box is stressing the mechanics of the lens, I hang the MB with an elastic to the israeli arm that holds the LCD...

Now I would love to have something between the Clutch and an all in all hardware solution where cables and connections would be managed differently.
Here a rapid drawing from an idea. It would be great to be able to move up and down the level of the shoulder pad (using an attachement to the backpack system for exemple).

Here's mine. Mostly all Red accessories, still figuring it out, getting a few more pieces. The battery is mounted onto a dsmc universal mount with the ET backplate on the red battery plate.

hey are you somehow Using the Bomb evf and touchscreen lcd simultaneously, or are you just alternating between them?

Still trying to figure that out, I guess I'll have to wait for the pro I / O module or get a small HDSDI monitor for focus pulling. I think I'm just going to wait for the IO module since it seems to be on the horizon.

But yes, at this point the only way to do the touchscreen and lcd is swap the cable (which SUCKS).
