Yes, thats is the one. Element Technica can make any custom cable at any length. =)
As for the EVF mounting, I noticed most of the other configurations have the EVF mounted where your head has to tilt upward... so the trick to mounting the EVF lower involved using this little guy: http://www.red.com/store/rail-compon...sal-mount-19mm plus the easy plate from x: http://x.com/
In the area directly underneath the lens mount, it provides threaded 1/4-20s...with the easy plate, it allowed me to push the mounting points forward so you can place the evf mount on top of that. =)
Mark,
What is the weight of your config there? I saw a picture of someone using Epic on a Steadicam Pilot (max 10lbs) and wondered what accessories you could get away?
Does the epic, lens mount, media, side handle, redvolt battery, and LCD come in under 10lbs?
I'd try to work it out but I cant find weights for any items apart from the epic body itself.
It's got a bit of weight to it... but still very easy to hand hold. I only use the mono pod because I start to get a sore lower back if holding for two long. Add one mono pod.. fixed :)
With a RED VOLT in it I just walk around like its an over size Hassleblad with handles. Did you see the quicky surf video we shot.. well that was in this simple mode..
Steadicam set up can be very light (on the sled) don't need monitor, side handle, etc. Batteries and monitor are down below, all thats up top is the brain and lens. Epic is a super light steadicam rig.
