Actually, I think most individuals have more cash, since technically the US is like ~$14 trillion in debt... ...Just sayin'.
Cash on hand is not the same as debt.

so each citizen's share of this debt is $46,137.59.
The National Debt has continued to increase an average of
$3.82 billion per day since September 28, 2007!
And has so signs of slowing down.
