Looking for a like-new O'Connor mid-level spreader for a set of 25L legs. Anyone have one? I'm located in LA.
    Thanks

    Hi Rick,

Don't have one, but assume you need one because the claws that hook on to the tripod legs broke on you. If so this happens all the time. Great tripod - absolutely crappy connection. Got tired of buying costly replacement parts or replacement spreaders, so I had someone machine me stainless steel claws that hook on to the tripod. No weight added because they are tiny little parts, but so much more secure. Cost me less than the replacement parts too.

    Cheers,
    Dale

    Dale,
I'm in that boat as well...was soon about to send my spreaders to get rebuilt. Do you have a referral-contact you can suggest to make those ? I'm looking for replacement on 35L spreader, but same idea...mine break at the clamp with that TINY screw that is used to hold the clamp...

Contact Jeff Roberts at West Coast Cine Video. He just hooked me up with a guy that fixed mine before I sold it. (Jeff sells here all the time)

    Hi Rick and Johnny,

It would probably be easier and more cost efficient if you got someone local to machine it for you. I got the guy (John) who manufactures the Advantajib cranes to do it for me: http://www.advantajib.com/

I think it was more hassle then it was worth for him, but he certainly did a great job.

Unfortunately they aren't magical hooks that just snap in. They were machined, the original end piece was cut off and then drilled, tapped and what ever the hell else he did to make sure it would not budge. You can try contacting him through his site. It sure has lessened my aggravation over these spreaders.
